Organic Cotton (Natural Fiber) The reason we use organic cotton instead of conventional cotton is quite simple; It's better for you and for the planet. Of course, the farming and process requires more knowledge and observation and is far more expensive and more complicated than the production of conventional cotton, but unlike conventional cotton, which uses approx. 7% of the world's pesticides and 16% of the world's insecticides, organic cotton uses none! Advantages: 71% less water is used in production compared to conventional cotton No toxic chemicals are used in the area where the cotton grows The cotton farmers are not exposed to any kind of chemicals It is better for the planet and for you Disadvantages: It is more expensive compared to the production of conventional cotton A lot of water is still used to grow organic cotton Care guide: We recommend that you wash at 30 degrees when you wash T-shirts with organic cotton, to prevent it from shrinking. Lyocell / TencellLyocell is a light and biodegradable material. Its fibers are stronger than other similar fibers, which means you get a product that lasts longer and looks better for longer. Lyocell is also known as Tencel and is made from eucalyptus trees. This is a fast growing plant that does not require tons of water or pesticides to grow. After harvesting the Eucalyptus tree, it is soaked in a solution called amine oxide, which is non-toxic. Advantages: It is a strong material, quick-drying and has good absorbency The absorption is actually 50% better than cotton, and because of the incredibly good absorbency, the material is antibacterial The fabric feels very light and soft. 100% biodegradableLyocell is very environmentally friendly because it is produced in a closed loop, so that all chemicals used are recycled. And fun fact – it is made from treesCons: It is an expensive materialCare guide: Wash preferably in a laundry bag, and turn the garment inside out to avoid pilling (fuzz).
