Nordic Swan Ecolabel

Swans here, swans there, swans everywhere

In collaboration with one of our suppliers, Egedeniz, we have had a large part of our T-shirts adopted by a swan. Not just any swan. But a swan that many of you probably already know: the Nordic Swan Ecolabel. Nordic Swan Ecolabel is actually so happy with our T-shirts that all our T-shirts in the brushed quality, both with and without print, have received the label.

We are extremely proud of that. It is a goal that has been achieved. A dream that has come true. It's a step in the right direction. Towards transparency and the ability to help you out there make better choices when it comes to clothing.

The special thing about our Swan-labelled products is their soft quality, which occurs when the cotton is brushed - hence the name brushed. They are produced by our supplier in Turkey, Egedeniz, who has worked with greener clothing production for many years. Back in 1993, they became the first factory in Turkey with certified organic cotton.

Egedeniz have their own cotton fields, which means that the cotton is picked in fields located a maximum of 160 kilometers from the factory. Therefore, the cotton does not have to be transported as far, and transport is thus minimized.

Although only our T-shirts in the brushed quality have received the Swan label, this certainly does not mean that the rest of our T-shirts are not of a good quality, and produced using methods with reduced climate impact. It just means that we have now reached the first milestone in terms of guiding you out there, through the jungle of greenwashing and opaque certificates.

... the Nordic Swan Ecolabel means that a wide range of strict criteria are set for the production of various products. In our case, requirements for clothing production. In summary, you are guaranteed the following when you buy Swan-labelled clothing:

· Restrictions on hazardous chemicals

· Requirements for wastewater treatment

· Less pollution during the production processes

· More sustainable production of fibres

· No child labor or gender discrimination

· The products are tested for shrinkage and color retention.
