Designed & knitted in Denmark
The cotton in this product is extracted from recycled denim. Denim requires a lot of natural resources to produce, so the recycling of already existing materials is a good way to reduce the environmental impact.
What is re.denim? Read along here:
Recycling:
Quality denim is collected and cut up.
Once all the trim has been removed, the denim pieces are broken down into fibres, to be recycled in a new production cycle. The recycled cotton is spun into new yarns and then finished knitted products.
Reducing:
This fiber has no environmental impact: when the denim enters a new production cycle, no chemicals or dyes are used. The fibers retain their original colour, and therefore the many liters of water normally required for dyeing are saved.
Reusing:
The environmental necessity of recycling the existing raw materials that have already been extracted is massive. This must be emphasized in the fashion world, where you often look for something new - what already exists is at least as important.
