When we started ELSK in Thy, our dream was to create clothing that could withstand anything. That's why our T-shirts are made with a quality that we can personally vouch for. When you choose a style from us, you don't just get a T-shirt, but a piece of our approach to fashion. We are currently based in Thisted, but our roots and inspiration are still firmly planted in the nature of Thy, where durability is a necessity for clothing to even make sense.

Today, the clothing industry is one of the most polluting industries in the world – a fact that, unfortunately, is often well-hidden behind flashy campaigns. At ELSK, we believe that we can only change behavior together if we know the truth. That's why we openly discuss the problems.
Our goal is not to point fingers, but to create respect for the raw materials and craftsmanship behind each T-shirt. It's about buying less, choosing better quality, swapping, buying second-hand, and rejecting the quick, cheap solutions that are not made to last. The solution is not just to buy a new T-shirt from ELSK – the solution is a shared understanding of buying better products that have a long lifespan.
GOTS, Nordic Swan Ecolabel & Turkish Hemp
It is crucial for us that our materials live up to our promises. Therefore, our cotton is always 100% GOTS-certified organic. Many of our most popular T-shirts are also Nordic Swan Ecolabelled, which is your guarantee of strict environmental requirements at all stages of the product's life cycle.
In addition to organic cotton, we work with materials such as Turkish hemp, which is an incredibly strong natural material that requires significantly fewer resources than conventional cotton. These are material choices that feel good on the body and even better for your conscience.
Regenerative Cotton: Production of the Future
We are incredibly proud of our close collaboration with our partner in Turkey, where we are in the process of shifting more production to regenerative cotton. This cotton is grown according to principles that help rebuild soil health rather than just depleting it. Our ambition is that in the near future, the entire production of our Nordic Swan Ecolabelled T-shirts will be based on regenerative cotton.
Production in Europe & No Air Freight
All our clothing is produced in Europe or by established partners in Turkey. This ensures decent working conditions and a high standard of craftsmanship. To reduce our climate footprint, we have made a conscious decision: Our products are never shipped by air. Everything is transported by truck from the European factories directly to our warehouse in Thisted.
Should your T-shirt one day no longer fit into your wardrobe, you can send it back to us via Re.ELSK. Here, we ensure that it either gets a new lease of life or is recycled correctly.
Is ELSK clothing sustainable?
No. No new clothing is sustainable. It's an illusion that we believe major players in the industry have misused. Instead, we call our T-shirts a thoughtful choice because we have made an effort to minimize the footprint through material selection, certifications, and long durability.
Why are your T-shirts more expensive than other cheap T-shirts?
Because decency costs. It costs to ensure GOTS-certified cotton, it costs to produce in Europe under proper conditions, and it costs to create a fabric that doesn't warp after three washes. We believe that in the long run, it's cheaper for both you and the planet to buy one T-shirt that lasts than five that quickly need to be thrown away.
