The first person you meet is Lars:
Q: What have you chosen as #myLOVE
A: I love being out in nature and at the same time like to combine it with activities where I use both body and brain! It helps me both to relax, but also to develop and test myself. Most often, it is when I am out in nature that my creativity and idea brain work best.
One of my favorite hobbies is being able to go out where it is steep... For me, mountaineering and climbing are the ultimate space to both relax, use my body, push my limits and learn more about myself. At the same time, I experience nature in the most beautiful way and really feel that you are part of the elements.
Q: What is the best thing about working for ELSK?
A: The freedom there is in both the tasks and working hours, at the same time that we actually try to run ELSK based on a desire to create a better fashion industry and do something good for nature. Lukas and I started ELSK together, and the pride I have in seeing that we have now become a "real" company and that we can actually make a small difference makes the daily joy great.
Q: What is the worst thing about working for ELSK?
A: It's probably when Mette decides what music we're going to listen to...
Q: What is your favorite ELSK outfit?
A: Our underwear! You rarely see it...and if you wear it, you hardly notice it!
Here you can meet Lukas:
Q: What have you chosen as #myLOVE
A: I have chosen coffee and lacquer... ie LPs, vinyls.. gramophone records. Dear child has many names. I started by getting my father's LP collection 10-12 years ago. I thought it was huge! Approx. 150 records with all the best from the late 60s and 70s. Since then I have probably acquired approx. 2500 records and I LOVE everything about that format. I have a broad taste in music, and the only requirement I have is that it must be good. Getting a new record for the collection is quite a ritual for me. The ritual that starts with getting hold of the "right" release. Preferably something hand numbered, or made in small special editions where extra care is taken with details. There are several bands and artists that I follow, and I like to wait to hear the latest from them until I'm sitting at home with the record in one hand and a cup of coffee in the other... it's a perfect experience. The varnish under the needle, geeking out on the artwork on the cover, reading the small print, looking at the pictures... then a good cup of coffee. Making time for the experience is important. There is something very special about it, something real. Soon I will be 40 years old, but the records can somehow evoke my inner teenager.
Q: What is the best thing about working for ELSK?
A: I suffer from unstructured ideation, and I have a hard time dedicating myself to the same thing for more than a few years at a time. When Lars and I had a cup of coffee together for approx. 8 years ago - we both wanted to do something different and better than what we knew... without really knowing anything. We had the idea of some things, and each of us some abilities that could perhaps be used for something or other - we have pushed a lot to each other and LOVE has turned into something very special. The best thing is that it hasn't gotten boring yet...
Q: What is the worst thing about working for ELSK?
A: That it is sooooo far to the toilet that I often have a dilemma as to whether I should have another cup of coffee or not... if I didn't choose to stop 2 out of 3 times, I would risk either increasing the consumption of shoes or get in good shape.
Q: What is your favorite ELSK outfit?
A: Our boxer shorts are absolutely crème brûlée. Beyond that, none of it can really fit, because I stay away too often... But after all, I like most of what we do. Although sometimes I wish we made more splashes, luckily I don't get to do it that often...it could quickly end up in a loss making business!
Woohoo! We have growing pains. Say hello to our two beautiful and new shoots in the ELSK sect... Loreena and Lea 🥳 Welcome to Team ELSK!
(and luckily they live in Thy, so at the moment they can't run away from us either....!)
And... We are running a campaign for positive vibes👌 So use the hashtag #mitELSK on Instagram and you will participate in the competition for a delicious gift card of DKK 2,500 for our webshop.
Show us what you care about. What your passion is.
Here, Loreena and Lea share a little about their mutual love:
Q: What have you chosen as #myLOVE
A: I have chosen yoga. I started practicing yoga because of the well-known benefits in terms of strength, mobility and peace of mind - but I would never have guessed the experiences and journeys yoga has brought with it! I was trained as a yoga instructor almost 2 years ago in Bali and have subsequently taught in Copenhagen, Java in Indonesia and now in beautiful Thy. I have met the most amazing people, moved myself mentally and had the opportunity to pass yoga on to others. The meeting with yoga has been a real love story.
Q: What is the best thing about working for ELSK?
A: Now I'm the newest member of the team, but I can already say that it's nice and cool colleagues, flexibility, that sustainability is a real agenda and not just a buzzword. And then there is room for creative charcoal buckets and yoga mats in the office.
Q: What is the worst thing about working for ELSK?
A: Just in these times, it must be the geographical location, so unfortunately we are not allowed to show up at the ELSK office and inspire and spar with each other.
Q: What is your favorite ELSK outfit?
A: I'm a geek when it comes to good materials and qualities. Wool is an absolutely fantastic material both to work with, but also to jump into, i.a. due to the wool's good insulating ability, heat-regulating effect and breathability. Here, the collar wool tee for women in the beautiful blue/white maritime stripes is a sure winner - 100% wool and a timeless design that can be used again and again.
Say hello to Lea:
Q: What have you chosen as #myLOVE
A: I have chosen my passion for nature and Danish islands as #mitELSK. In recent years, together with my husband and our 4 children, I have spent a lot of free time going island hopping with the island passport in hand. Here we enjoy the Danish nature in the kayak, on the bike or in hiking boots. It's fantastic to be allowed to be together like that - with no other agenda than being together, experiencing, sniffing and just being.
I love being out in nature and go as often as possible. Nature is clearly my second home, and I love that here in Thy we have it right outside the door.
Q: What is the best thing about working for ELSK?
A: I am new to Team ELSK, but already the fantastic togetherness shines through. There is great flexibility, lots of challenges and no two days are the same. And last but not least, it is so cool to experience that the green way of thinking is real and experienced in everyday life. I love helping to support our nature and our earth in a greener workplace.
Q: What is the worst thing about working for ELSK?
A: Right now it must be that corona is keeping us apart, so we can't all meet in the office. It's a cool and totally committed team, so I'm looking forward to all of us being able to spar and share knowledge again without a screen separating us.
Q: What is your favorite ELSK outfit?
A: I love the RE.WOMEN´S TEE. It's super soft, fits perfectly, and the idea that 70% of it comes from recycled cotton and polyester is pretty cool.
Then you should also say hello to our beautiful Sarah and Mette. 2 pieces that are indispensable in making the ELSK mill turn well. Below you can read a little about them and their #mitELSK .
Say hello to Sarah:
Q: What have you chosen as #myLOVE
A: I have chosen my family/my children as #myELSK Family consists of father Morten, Magnus aged 19, Victor aged 17, Mathilde aged 15, Ludvig aged 9 and then the house mascot the dog Coco.
This whole big circus gives me a lot of joy, love, closeness and a good deal of logistics.
Q: What is the best thing about working for ELSK?
A: I am the one who has been at Team ELSK for the longest time now and can only say that the work processes are not like in other workplaces.
But it is certainly not meant in a negative way – The days are never the same and you know they will never be boring.
The common denominator of the ELSK workplace is that there is freedom, room for diversity, creativity and really good humour.
Q: What is the worst thing about working for ELSK?
A: Is it cliche to write NOTHING….
But if I have to mention something, I have to jump on the Corona train. I'm looking forward to when we can all just be together and you don't have to think about distance, booze and Corona high fives.
The way to the toilets is also a bit long and a bit creepy at night.
Q: What is your favorite ELSK outfit?
A: I LOVE our RIB DREAMS WOMEN'S BLOUSE. It is made of the most delicious fabric and fits perfectly. Love it, it is so simple in its expression and so thin that it easily goes under other blouses. I'm a bit of a frozen stick (just ask Lars!) so I'm a big fan of layer on layer fashion.
Here we have Mette:
Q: What have you chosen as #myLOVE
A: I have chosen to bring a football that I/we LOVE in my family. I myself previously played football for many years and loved it and all the sociality it provided. In 2002 I met my husband Peter, who has also played football all his life. Today we don't play ourselves, but we have chosen to get involved in our two children's daily life with football, and have been their coach for many years now.
Q: What is the best thing about working for ELSK?
A: I have been with ELSK for a year now, and the flexibility in our everyday life here is invaluable. I love being surrounded by nice colleagues who each have their amazing ability and personality to make my working day GOOD. Everyday life is never the same, and the challenges to think differently are waiting in line. Something that can also only be LOVED are Lukas's many small, whimsical and fantastic stories about EVERYTHING POSSIBLE, so it can do something 🙌
Q: What is the worst thing about working for ELSK?
A: Missing my colleagues right now because of CORONA. It's not the same when we can't gather the whole herd. And then it's Lars's sometimes terrible taste in music, to which he "tries" to shout along, AV AV ears 😂
Q: What is your favorite ELSK outfit?
A: I'd take a shot at our LY women's 100% organic cotton tee. It fits great and is super comfortable to wear. A tee that fits all shapes;-)
As the last in line this round, you must meet Emil, who works as a salesman at ELSK.
Q: What have you chosen as #myLOVE
A: I have chosen my passion for Surfing. I always wanted to learn to surf and when I was a child I windsurfed with my father. But it wasn't until 2014 that I was really bitten by the surf. Since then, it has developed into my biggest passion. I think about it every single day and if too many days go by without getting on the water, I get restless. I am super privileged to be able to share my passion with my father, and we often go out together. I love getting out to the water before the sun is fully up and then hopefully seeing good waves roll in. The feeling you get in your body cannot be described in words.
Q: What is the best thing about working for ELSK?
A: I would say that there are many "best things" about working for ELSK. I love the freedom and diversity I have in my daily life. I have yet to have two days that have been the same. I can plan what the week looks like myself. If, for example, I can see that there will be surf next Thursday, I can work extra days up to that, and then go on the water on Thursday. I am super proud to be part of a great colleague team and to be part of a company that makes a virtue of standing out, daring to try new things, pushing boundaries and failing in the process.
Q: What is the worst thing about working for ELSK?
A: When I lose to Lars in table tennis...
Q: What is your favorite ELSK outfit?
A: Right now it has to be our new T-shirt (model HEAVY). I quite often wear basic clothes, and the new model fits me well as I'm quite tall (202cm). So I'm quite fond of the sturdier quality it's made of.
