ELSK® EXPANDS THE OWNERSHIP CIRCLE

ELSK® expands the ownership circle and prepares the company for the next step.

PRESS RELEASE

The sustainable fashion brand ELSK expands its ownership with two new investors. This is done so that you can continue the company's positive development and at the same time ensure that the growth can take place in a way that is true to the original concept.

Klitmøller, 1 May 2017.

ELSK ApS has expanded the ownership group with Per Christiansen and Henrik Dam Jespersen. Thus, the company has received additional liquidity and, most importantly, additional competences, which can ensure that ELSK can not only continue its positive growth, but that it can also be done in a way where the original set of values is maintained and you can increase your focus on creating even better and more sustainable products.

Lars Riis & Lukas L. Leszczynski, founders of ELSK, say the following about the expansion of the ownership circle: "At ELSK we are experiencing a strong increase in demand. There is a desire from both retailers and end-consumers for a larger range, and we would like to comply. At the same time, we ourselves have had a desire to be able to work more focused with our production and collection development. We will especially expand our women's collection and at the same time work to raise the two most important parameters for us: Quality and sustainability.”

Per Kalstrup Christiansen, who owns the lifestyle house KALSTRUP in Blokhus, is one of the two new co-owners of ELSK. For him, it is an investment made from both heart and brain: "We had actually placed our first order for ELSK with the store before we signed up as a potential investor. However, we could quickly see that it was a concept that we wanted to be an even bigger part of. Both because we think it can be a sensible investment, but to a large extent also because ELSK comes up with a concept that fits perfectly into our own philosophy for KALSTRUP and has a set of values that we would like to work with in everyday life, as well as be part of to develop further. We believe there is enormous potential to get an incredibly strong brand that will be able to add something new to the industry.”

The other new co-owner of ELSK is Henrik Dam Jepsersen. For him, it was largely the atypical approach to the fashion industry and the business model that piqued his interests. "I have followed ELSK on the sidelines and noticed how they stand out from other brands and have managed to create a concept where you are true to your own values and work hard to have a loyal customer base. After the initial negotiations, I could quickly see that this is a company that has managed to hit on a sharp concept that they are 100% faithful to. I believe that the new ownership structure means that ELSK can continue to be ELSK, but at the same time become bigger and better. Better, so that you can continuously raise your own bar and push some boundaries within the fashion industry. Bigger, so that you have the opportunity to meet the demand you experience”

Lars Riis adds: "It has been important for us to find partners who understand our somewhat atypical way of thinking about both business and concept. We think long-term in everything we do, and believe that by working with unique, high-quality products that are also sustainably produced, we can create a healthy business that is not just a 24-hour business. Our two new co-owners understand this and they are at least as passionate about the concept as we are. Sustainability is the highest priority for us, and in the future we want not only to be able to make the best choices based on what already exists, but also to help create new standards and increase the focus on better production. We have progressed with small and humble steps, and our journey in relation to the development of ELSK as a brand is still in its infancy. With the added capital and skills, we can better allow ourselves to raise our own standards even more, but this is not because we have to go out and accelerate our revenue growth. We believe that our growth will come naturally, if only we focus enough on making the right products and are true to our values and the thoughts that have been behind ELSK from the beginning.”
